Intern: Summer position

My Work Comments Off

As many of you will know from my last post, I am a 2nd year student in Computing for Internet and Multimedia at RGU. This term is due to end in April, with a 6 month break. During this time I am hoping to find work experience as Web developer in Aberdeen, to gain experience and to further my practical background. My skills are mainly HTML/CSS, however I also have experience in WordPress and WordPress themes.

I have worked on various sites – Examples available in portfolio posts.

If you have, or know of any positions available to help me further my career, please contact me at peter@pgmdesign.co.uk or by using the quick contact form in the sidebar.

Thanks to anyone who shares or RT’s this post as any help is appreciated.

Well as you can probably tell, it has been a while since I’ve updated this blog/portfolio, mainly due to having all my time consumed by either University or the gym.

I can’t remember if I was attending university when I last posted on here, but after working in full time employment in a job that I wasn’t enjoying for almost 2 years I decided that enough was enough and I was going to go back to education. Doing this was probably the best decision that I have ever made.  I am now a second year student at RGU in Aberdeen, studying “Computing for Internet and Multimedia”.

Having just completed my first semester, I came out with A,A,B,C,D for my first set of examinations/courseworks in almost 4 years, which I am pretty happy about. Obviously room for improvement, but it’s better than a fail which is what I expected to get considering Java is not my strongest point at the moment. I will be working on changing that though.

Onto semester two…..

Redesign for Burn Your Heroes

My Work Comments Off

Along with P in the Dark another website which I have am proud to say that I have worked on is that of independent clothing range “Burn Your Heroes”

Run by David Simpson, the site has boomed in popularity selling hundreds of T-shirts. The new redesign was to co-incide with the launch of the Spring range for 2012.

The site layout was designed mainly by David, along with input from myself to bring an appealing website to his customers. Using Big Cartel as the platform for the site and a completely custom built template, the site was good to go in around 2 weeks.

Burn Your Heroes is still an ongoing project with more features to be added to the site in the coming months.
